With the deaths of Leila and Kemper Williams, in 1966 and 1971 respectively, the foundation bearing their names was established, thereby creating The Historic New Orleans Collection, an endowed institution supervised by an seven-member board of directors. The board’s dedicated members oversee the institution’s operation, providing guidance and insight.
