Students will analyze the oral histories of students who were a part of the Congress on Racial Equality during the civil rights movement.
PROCEDURES
Have the students do the lesson in small groups of two or four people.

Play the oral history excerpts listed below, then have students respond to the prompts on the worksheet. You may distribute transcripts of the oral history excerpts (available through the links next to the audio) to students for reference.
Encourage students to work collaboratively and talk about the documents.
Reconvene as a class to discuss students’ answers to the worksheet.
