Abstract : 1764. Cherbourg. Correspondence between the Commissioner of Classes of Cherbourg, the Minister and Mr. Mistral. Relates to the Acadian refugees in Cherbourg. The 1763 departure was delayed because it was too late in the season to head for Newfoundland. The majority of these refugees wished to go to Saint Pierre and to Miquelon in 1764. The King, meanwhile, wished to send them to Cayenne. All migrants sailed from Le Havre, and some of them traveled to Louisiana.
