No change: blue. This unusual 3½-story stuccoed brick building, known as the Gardette-Le Pretre House, was built for Joseph Gardette in 1836 by builder Frederick Roy, but was owned between 1839 and 1878 by the banker-merchant Jean Baptiste Le Pretre. The distinguishing features include a basement level with openings enclosed by wrought iron grilles and the c. 1850 ornate, wraparound galleries that transformed the originally severe and cubic lines of the monumental Greek Revival building.
