1100 Decatur/1-3 French Market Place. Old rating: yellow; new rating: green. It is not certain whether the bank building at this address is a ca. 1920 building or a ca. 1920 remodeling of an older building. Both the 1876 and 1896 Sanborn Maps indicate a two-story hipped roof building situated at this location, extending from Decatur to Gallatin Street, today French Market Place. This well-detailed 1920s building opened its doors in 1920 as the French Market branch of the Hibernia Bank and Trust Co. The importance of this structure must be considered in relation to the French Market, Latrobe Park, and the neighboring Decatur Street buildings.
