Old rating: main building and slave quarter -- blue; rear building and slave quarter addition -- yellow; garden building -- orange : to : new rating: main building and slave quarter -- purple; rear building and slave quarter addition -- yellow; garden building and the restored garden area -- orange. (NOTE: This orange rating was approved because of the 1950s reconstruction date for the garden space and pavilion. It was done, however, with the stipulation that a note be added to the file stating the Committee's opinion of the importance of this garden reconstruction.) The Le Carpentier-Beauregard House, designed in 1826 by the architect François Correjolles, is a landmark from the French Quarter's Transitional period between French and American building traditions. The restoration of the 19th c. formal garden (based on a c. 1860 plan of the property) in the French manner dates from the 1950s, as does the 2-story brick garden pavilion (Koch and Wilson Architects).
