Ornate gardens with symmetrical hedges and pathways, featuring a circular pond. The gardens are surrounded by dense trees, with a large lake in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

Beginning in the City of Lights, which will be in full late springtime splendor, our itinerary features private access to amazing places – royal apartments at Versailles, special collections at historic libraries, and behind-the-scenes looks at the freshly restored Notre Dame cathedral.

A lush vineyard stretches into the distance under a clear sky, with a small village and church steeple visible on the horizon. The rows of grapevines are neatly aligned, creating a sense of order and tranquility in the rural landscape.
A historic stone gate with an arched passageway stands under a clear blue sky. Sunlight streams through, casting long shadows on the cobblestone path. Two people walk through the arch, surrounded by old buildings on either side.
A scenic view of a historic town with stone buildings and a prominent church spire under a partly cloudy blue sky. Lush greenery surrounds the town, and vineyards can be seen in the distance.

After speeding down to southwest France via the famed TGV train, we spend four days soaking up the architectural, scenic, and gastronomic glories of Bordeaux and its famed wine country. You’ll be special guests in private homes, splendid chateaux, and majestic theaters, and you will discover Bordeaux’s amazing 18th century urban fabric, one of the best preserved in the world, reflecting the time when merchants, sailors, and vintners from Bordeaux were active in the early days of New Orleans.

Great food and lovely company enrich the tour, and whether you’ve never been to France, or been a dozen times, we’re confident this trip will be a magical one.
