Sensory-Friendly Saturdays
Exploration and hands-on learning for neurodiverse guests and their families
About
Sensory-Friendly Saturdays at HNOC are mornings of exploration and hands-on learning for neurodiverse guests and their families. These events are open to individuals of all ages who would benefit from a low-sensory museum experience. Each edition features several activities for different age and ability levels.
Sensory-Friendly Saturdays are free and open to the public. Registration is recommended.
Can’t make it to a Sensory-Friendly Saturday? Check out our Sensory Inclusive bags, which are available anytime at the front desk in our Welcome Center at 520 Royal Street. These bags are filled with items that can help lessen sensory overload, including headphones, fidgets, and visual cue cards.
HNOC’s Social Story
In addition, we offer a social story designed to help visitors know what to expect when they visit the museum.
Support
HNOC is proud to have received a Sensory Inclusive™ Certification from KultureCity in response to our efforts to better engage with individuals with sensory needs.
