Spanish Colonial Louisiana: Isleños and Malagueños
Grades 6–8
Students will learn how the French and Indian War resulted in Louisiana becoming a Spanish colony, leading to the immigration of Canary Islanders and Andalusians. Students will analyze maps and internet sources to research the origin of place names in Louisiana.
