New Orleans and the Spanish World
Grades 7–9
These six lessons focus on the influence of the Spanish Caribbean on New Orleans. Lessons 1–3 explore the historical connections between Spain and New Orleans from the colonial period up to the late 19th century, and lessons 4–6 involve listening activities with musical selections and reading materials about the composers.
