The popular podcast host Peter Ricchiuti dined with HNOC’s Daniel Hammer to discuss the role of museums in chronicling historical memory.
“[Oral history] is the front line, if you will, of documenting today’s history. . . The project of documenting the history of a place is fraught with opportunity to miss things. Oral history is a tool that we can use to begin the process of filling holes [in HNOC’s collection]. From there, we can grow our ability to collect more materials through the relationships we build with oral histories.”
